About the event
A four day course addressing the unique challenges of officer involved shootings and in custody death investigations. Participants will receive training on (1) the law of uses of force and the objective reasonableness test, including the latest significant cases; (2) the law of administrative investigations and their relation to criminal investigations; (3) the impact of human factors on officer involved critical incidents and how to spot issues for criminal investigations; (4) best practices with regard to the use and analysis of video evidence; and (5) training in the cognitive interview style and its use in use of force cases.
